Conflict Management Style and Stress with the Role of Mindfulness

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships among mindfulness, conflict management style, and stress. For this study, 244 students completed the questionnaires and SPSS and Amos 4 were employed. The findings are: First, the first process confirmed the factor structure of the scale of conflict management style and revealed a satisfactory level of internal consistency and the construct validity of the scale. Conflict management style is composed of competition, avoidance, acceptance, and cooperation. Second, mindfulness increases cooperation while it reduces avoidance. However, mindfulness does not influence on competition and acceptance. In addition, mindfulness reduces directly stress. Third, cooperation reduces stress while avoidance, acceptance and competition increase. Discussions and implications of these results are included.
